  1. Hi, Guy,

    Your annual Astronomical Calendar is wonderful; I write a monthly column for the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, and your calendar is something I rely on.

    however, I might have found a “bug”. On page 17 of the 2015 issue, you list the opposition of Ceres as occurring on June 29. However, all my other sources say it’s July 25. Would you check this?

      And yes, you are only the second to draw my attention to the error for Ceres. To quote the confession I shall have to put into the “Corridenda” section in Astronomical Calendar 2016:
      The positions for Ceres are wrong because of a mistake in its orbital elements (now given as those of a “dwarf planet” instead of a “minor planet” (asteroid). A corrected chart is at http://www.universalworkshop.com/updates.
